When it comes to HEAVY but mild (technically) overland, I can't imagine a better vehicle. Edit - Wow, I would have thought their CCC (cargo carrying capacity) would have been higher with a GVWR of 9200 (diesel) you would hope, but I guess a curb weight of 7725(!) lbs doesn't help. At 1475 this actually has ~200 less CCC than my fzj80 land cruiser. wow.

It does tick the two most important boxes- diesel and solid axle.

You can't do this with an Xterra

it does, but since most people only get 15 mpg highway (what I get) and it has less payload than mine....im not sure how much better it really is at heavy overland travel.
even when taking into account the under reported true weight, my cruiser can carry 1500 lbs.

While excursion > expedition, land cruiser > almost, but not quite, anything.

My wife wants either an Expedition or a Yukon within a month. Don't judge me; it'll be her DD.
It also allows me to go get a car. A fast car. A fast sedan car.

That's got to be under rated. They must have softened up these suspensions to make them more family friendly, either way it would be really easy to mod it to carry 2000 easy. Leaf springs are so much cheaper than coils.

yeah, that's the highest GVWR i found, some as low as 8600. Must be a GAWR limitation and the fact that its a FREAKING LARD MONSTER

You will be the first person I call when the zombie apocalypse comes. Until then, please stay out of the left lane.

Very well then. You are free to use whichever lane you want.
